Begin with the exact medicine.
Protein building blocks form a short chain called a peptide. It is not a single treatment.
The myth
Anything called a peptide is the same kind of care.
A familiar drug and an online product can be very different
Insulin is a peptide. So are some medicines used for weight care.
On September 26, 2026, FDA approval covered specific uses of semaglutide products Ozempic and Wegovy, and of tirzepatide products Mounjaro and Zepbound. The federal government reviews medicines through the Food and Drug Administration, known as FDA.
For example, Wegovy has an approved use for weight care, while Ozempic has an approved use for type 2 diabetes. The product name matters as well as the ingredient.
The FDA approves a particular medicine for particular health problems. Another product with the same ingredient does not gain that approval.

Made to order means approved for me.
Compounding means making medicine to order
A pharmacist or licensed doctor can prepare a medicine rather than use a ready-made product. This preparation process is known as compounding.
Compounded medicine had no FDA approval of its own on September 26, 2026. Before patients receive it, the FDA does not review this medicine’s safety, results, or quality.
The FDA says compounding can help a patient when no approved product meets their need. That does not give every ingredient permission to be compounded.

A research label makes personal treatment legitimate.
A research label does not mean a medicine is fit for people
In guidance current on September 26, 2026, the FDA warns people to avoid semaglutide, tirzepatide, and similar products labelled for research when they are offered for use by people. Their quality is unknown, and these products may harm people.
Research use describes laboratory work. It does not turn a product into a reviewed medicine.
On September 26, 2026, a search of FDA records found no approved US medicine for BPC-157 or ipamorelin.
Ask for the medicine’s full name, whether it comes as a shot or pill, and who makes and supplies it.
